Recording With Z. Randall Stroope

On hearing the Advanced Chorus sing in June 2013, at the Windy City Festival, this is what Z. Randall Stroope, the artistic director at the Festival had to say:  “It has been my privilege to hear hundreds of fine youth choirs in my conducting and composing career.  The New Jersey Youth Chorus is easily in the top three.  Trish Joyce has established a philosophy of excellence with her young musicians, on and off the stage, and the electricity and discipline in performance is admirable by any standard!”  The Chorus was incredibly honored to be asked by Dr. Stroope to record three of his pieces, Sanctus, Veni Sancti Spiritus and Lux Aeterna, to be used on the Alliance Music Publishing website, and Dr. Stroope’s website.   Dr. Stroope flew to New Jersey, and worked with the choristers on a Friday evening and Saturday morning to record the pieces.  To be able to work directly with a composer on his own music was a special and unique opportunity that the choristers will not forget.
