NJYC was thrilled to host Zimfira Poloz, Artistic Director of the Hamilton Children’s Choir as a clinician for this very special workshop. Zimfira, a highly respected conductor, educator, and adjudicator with a distinguished international reputation, demonstrated her philosophy and approach to building a beautiful children’s choral sound at all levels, from elementary through high school. Participants left with creative new ideas for eliciting the rich, vibrant sound that their choirs are naturally capable of producing!

Three of the New Jersey Youth Chorus choirs also served as lab choirs; Coro Vivo (boys with unchanged voices, grades 4 – 8), Sola Voce (girls in grades 6 – 8), and Coriste (girls in grades 9 – 12). Coriste was also lucky enough to have a private clinic with Zimfira on Friday night. It was a phenomenal experience for all involved.
